feasting on ice cream and fries

Sass, Calvs, Reg and I went to Jollibee after RegCom to celebrate someone's grades. :) Upgraded to Kwatro Kid ka na, kapatid. CONGRATULATIONS! >:D<

Anyway, she bought us ice cream and cheesy fries. And because that definitely wasn't enough for us, we bought 2 more large fries and a regular one (para hindi naman sabihin ng Jollibee na nghhoard kami ng fries). :)

Ice cream and fries are definitely a tested-and-proven-yummy combination, satisfying in all its unhealthiness. But the best always comes from the company, the laughter and the bonding time.

To more good times!
To more laugh trips!
To Fab4! :)

lalalalala

I'm back from the Land of Smiles. It's really just like the Philippines except:

1. it's waaaaay cleaner
2. make a joke about their king and everyone will be angry (here, make a joke about our president and most will laugh with you)
3. they wear color coded clothes for when you want to honor the king (it's not required though. monday's yellow. un lng naalala ko. :P)
4. people are more friendly and welcoming here, prettier too. :P except sa guys, kpg sa guys, cguro pantay lng.
5. real thai food is sold in the streets (wala silang mga carinderia. what they have are "isaw/fishball" type stalls and a couple of plastic table and chairs around or behind it. and for some reason, my mom says it's okay to eat street food in all countries except the Philippines. wierd.)
6. fruits are much much MUCH sweeter (not to mention, bigger)
7. their malls open late and close early
8. no flies (at least I didn't see any, kahit around the street food, wala)
9. come to think of it, there weren't any street children as well
10. their beggars hands were always in the "thank you" position even if noone gives them anything, like they're thanking you for letting them sit there and beg
11. their monks have ipods and buy the latest canon cameras
12. they have a super nice airport
13. food there is really cheap (except if u eat fastfood or american food)
14. it's not as tourist friendly as here (few speak english and those who do are hard to understand)
15. it's a few degrees hotter

The trip was great. But it's great to be back in a place where you can understand what everybody says. Even if it's dirtier and smellier and all. It's good to be back home. :)

there are no glitches when it comes to happiness -reese

My cousin, my sister and I went swimming today at Serendra One. We walked around a bit then had dinner at Italianni's afterwards. While walking, we saw a gay couple..

Cousin: Uy, tingnan mo, sila ba?
Me: Ewan ko. Bakit, mukha bang sila?
*at this point, we saw that they were holding hands and were being teased by their other 2 friends
Cousin: Nyek, sila nga. Kadiri naman.
Me: Kung san sila masaya.

-----

During dinner, our parents were chatting among themselves when they called our attention.

Hindi ba nila alam na that is against God's will?
Me: Baka naman glitch lng un sa game.

*****

.....

kung saan ako masaya.

at hindi lng sya glitch.

that 150 hours was a hell of a lot faster than i thought

I just got home from my practicum. I'm done. Natapos ko na ang 150 hours.. I'm gonna miss the people there, the kids too..

Because of Alres-Phils:
- i find myself singing/humming Barney songs in the shower
- everytime i see a toy store, i go inside and look at the babies/little children section
- i was introduced and am now addicted to theraputty
- i could care less if someone burped loud enough for everyone to hear

Things I learned:
- medicine ball + semi-bald hyper kid = an emergency trip to the dentist and lots of pain
- circle time serves a purpose other than to "kill time"
- watching kids play can be incredibly relaxing
- special children are smart, they just need someone to help them show it to everyone else
- having parents who can't accept their child's diagnosis is equal to having no parents at all
- true happiness is any happiness you get from people who are experts at being happy, children
- work is anything you have to do, if the description includes "fun", it isn't work

after 5 years

Brooke: Do you ever wanna go back? I remember being 16 and everything seemed much easier. Would you do it differently?

Lucas: I'd try to appreciate the things I took for granted. But I think we have to go through all those stuff, you know, to get to the place that we wanna be.

singing tunes in my head

I'm in an especially good mood today/tonight. :) cheery even. haha. anyway.. in honor of mother's day, guess what i found out?

In most countries, it's celebrated during the second sunday of the month of may. But..

In UK, it's the 4th Sunday in Lent.
In France, it's the 1st Sunday in June or the last Sunday in May.
In Norway, it's on the 2nd Sunday in February.
In Lebanon, it's the 1st day of spring.
In Indonesia, it's on December 22.
In Russia, it's on November 28.
In Egypt, it's on March 21.
In Thailand, August 12. (happy birthday to the queen?)
In Belgium and Costa Rica, it's on August 15.
In Argentina, it's on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in October.

Iba iba pla ang Mother's Day. :) wala lang. haha.

at 1:38 am

may ngttext pa rin skn. :P at ito ang tnxt nya. (hi jera!)

FACT:

"When a person cries and the first dropof tear comes from the right eye.. it's happiness. But when it rolls from the left.. it's pain."

*****

sinusubukan kong alalahanin kng totoo ba pro d ko na maalala. hindi ko kc nrrecord ang bawat pag-iyak ko. pro ncurious ako.

masubukan nga.. (prng gnun gnun lng kdli umiyak e)

*****

WAIT!

samboy, ven!!! sudden realization!!!!

pwede ba tong thesis?! if it's true, it could have something to do with the brain. pro prng ang hirap itest. :P

Who knew?

My practicum's about to end. I only have a few hours left. I'm surprised to find myself not wanting it to end. Even though I was excited to start, I honestly thought that would wear off and I'd eventually look forward to not having to go to work.

But it didn't wear off and I'm still excited to go to work everyday.

The teachers there have become my friends. So have my fellow practicumers. And the students.. the students are the hardest to leave.

Yes, they sometimes pee on the floor without any warning at all (swerte ka nlng kng makaiwas ka). They fart at exactly the right time - when your face is just inches away from their butt (walang malisya, OT exercises un). They step on you, pull your hair, scream in your ears, cry until you want to cry yourself, don't listen even when you're already screaming your lungs out.

But they also run through the door, eager and happy to see you everyday. They say sorry like they really mean it and they laugh like they won't be able to laugh tomorrow. They hug you and kiss you on the cheek and tell you they love you even if you don't ask them too. They don't listen often but when they do, you have their full attention (at least until something distracts them again). They're incredibly hard to teach but when they learn, they learn good.

I honestly want to continue working until the end of the summer. I can, the principal asked me to after all. But there are other things I have to do before the school year starts, things I not only need but also want to do.

Summer hasn't ended yet but I'm already sure it will be the most memorable summer I will have in a long long time. (And to those who know what happened to me yesterday, you would agree that the previous sentence would probably be an understatement. I will never forget that semi-bald head of yours, Mendrix.)

can't think of a title

More than a week ago, my friends and I went accompanied me to eat dinner. And of course, while walking, we talked about things.. uhh.. we had in common? :P Anyway, a little debate happened and I said I would blog about it, so to be true to my word.. Tadaaa! :P

*****

They said I was blue. They were talking about whether I was pink or blue. I was more thinking of what to eat for dinner.

I'm not being deviant (how ironic!), I'm not being stubborn, I'm not choosing to be ambiguous. I just don't understand why there has to be pink and blue. Blue and blue cannot go together, neither can pink and pink, because based on what was explained to me, it'll be wierd?

It took gay people years before they were accepted into SOME societies. It took years for same-sex relationships (in the general sense) to be okay for the more liberal countries. Then we start to define ourselves as either blue or pink? Why???

It somehow feels like we're unraveling everything that has been done before.
